Like Every Month
It really felt like september flew by! I'm not sure how to begin to be honest. The children went back to school after a wonderfully long hot summer. So those last few weeks of summer were crammed in with activities every day. My wife finished her maternity leave, which means I'm now alone in the office throughout the day. Plugging away on the computer editing clients photographs and running social media.
Weddings
As far as wedding's go, September was a crazy month where I attended 4 weddings. 3 of those wedding's I was second shooting for other photographers and 1 of my own clients. For all of the weddings I was apart of the weather stayed beautiful!

Babies
Our little guy turned 1 this month. It's bittersweet, as much as I dislike that term I'm happy that he's reached the big milestone of 1 but sad because he's growing up. Everyday he's further and further from being a baby and being our last one it's going to be a long time until we have another in the house.
Not only did our little fella have a cake smash this month but his friend also had a first birthday cake smash too!! Tanner here had a blast in the studio destroying his cake!

Replacing a lens
For quite sometime time I've been using an old Tamron 90mm Macro lens for work and by old I mean very old. This Tamron 90mm Macro lens has been in use since 1996! I have actually been very surprised with the image quality of the lens. It has no optimised coatings for digital sensors. I've use it for multiple weddings this year for ring detail shots and some portraits. However with a lens being so old I did notice this month that the aperture blades were becoming increasingly noisy with each wedding. With still a few more to go this season I was worried it was going to fail me in the middle of a wedding. So I nabbed this pristine copy of the Canon 100mm F/2.8 Macro lens the evening before I had two wedding back to back (incredibly busy weekend). I run this lens through the gauntlet and being the only Canon L series lens I have ever owned I can say I was impressed (I'm a solid Sigma Lens fan). Honestly I wasn't expecting the autofocus to keep up with moving subjects during golden hour at the Mackenzie King Estate in the Gatineau Park.

Preparing for Christmas
You may think it's a bit early for Christmas pictures!
However I am planning on running a Xmas themed photo studio at the Russell Flea Market in the lead up to Christmas.
I will be at the Russell Flea Market October 5th, November 16th & 23rd.
Very excited about the flea market, I hope it adds lots of value to our local area. As I have spent months planning these markets and can't wait to see how it goes.
