Behind the Scenes: My Pop-Up Photo Studio at the Russell Flea Market

This spring, I had the chance to set up my pop-up photo studio at the Russell Flea Market—and even though I only had one client that day, it was such a worthwhile experience.

The energy at the market was amazing—local vendors, handmade goods, vintage finds, and so many friendly faces just wandering through, enjoying the vibe. While it was a quieter day on my end photography-wise, it gave me the chance to talk to people, hand out cards, and really connect with the community. That kind of face-to-face interaction means everything, especially as a small business owner.

I’ve got a feeling things are only going to get busier from here. Leading up to Christmas, my calendar is already starting to fill up with sessions, and I couldn’t be more grateful. That little spring market day may have been a slow start, but it planted seeds for what's shaping up to be a very busy holiday season!

If you’re planning a community event or market and want to offer something different—like a pop-up photo booth or portrait sessions—I’d love to be part of it. It’s a great way to create memories for guests and add something extra to the atmosphere.

Big thanks to the one awesome client who came out for a portrait, and to everyone who stopped to chat or take a card. Can’t wait to do it again.
