A Quick Check-In With My Photography


This isn’t a tutorial. It’s not a review. And it’s definitely not a big announcement.

It’s just a bit of a check-in.


Lately, I’ve been thinking about my photography — where things are going, how the year’s been shaping up so far, and what I want to focus on moving forward.


Slowing Down to Think


We’re just past the first part of the year, and it’s one of those natural points where you start to reflect a bit.

Things get busy quickly in this industry, especially with weddings, and it’s easy to just keep moving without really stopping to think about what you’re doing and why.

This was me taking a bit of that time.


A Small Gear Addition


I did pick up something new recently — a lens I’ve been considering for a while.

But honestly, this video isn’t really about that.

The gear is more of a side note.

It’s more about what it represents — taking a step forward, trying something slightly different, and continuing to refine how I shoot.

I’ll go into the details of that in the next video.


Where My Head’s At


Right now, I’d say I’m in a bit of a middle ground. Not changing everything. Not standing still either. Just paying a bit more attention to:

How I’m shooting. What I’m focusing on and where I want things to go long-term. Nothing drastic — just being a bit more intentional.


What’s Next


This is more of a starting point than anything else.

Over the next few videos, I’ll be sharing:

  • Why I picked up the RF 100mm macro
  • How I plan to use it at weddings
  • And how my kit is evolving this year


But for now, this is just where I’m at.

A bit of a pause.

A bit of reflection.

And getting ready for what’s next.
